Validation

Every segment is recomputed independently, then the continuous catalogue is checked against exact published values of the prime-counting function π(N).

Independent verification of every segment

After generation of the primes within a segment, a different browser installation receives the same range as an independent validation task. It recomputes the prime result from the range alone and submits the resulting count and SHA-256 hash.

If both computations match, the provisional files are promoted and the segment becomes part of the validated catalogue. If they do not match, the provisional files are discarded and the segment is returned to the generation queue.

Checks against known π(N) values

When the continuous validated range reaches a power of ten, TeraPrimes counts all primes below that boundary directly from the validated segment bitmaps and compares the result with the exact known value of π(10n), the prime-counting function.

A green check means the computed catalogue value exactly matches the expected value. Higher ranges remain pending until all required segments are validated until that boundary.
